The Shiny Key

イメージ
Nadim looked in the magpie's nest. It was full of shiny things. (P.20) Today I read “The Shiny Key”. One day when Chip was watching TV. Nadim came to play. At the time, the magic key began to glow and took them and other children into a new adventure. The children were in a wood. Suddenly, Biff saw something shiny and picked it up. It was a beautiful ring. Then, they saw some soldiers. They grabbed the children and said “That ring is stolen.” After that, they took the children to the prince. They was regarded as thieves. But, at that time, a magpie flew down and took the magic key. The children ran after the magpie, and everyone ran after the children. And then they found its nest. Nadim climbed the tree and looked in the nest. It was full of shiny things. Actually, the magpie was thief! I know many stories like this, but I really wonder why birds stole shiny things such as necklaces, rings and so on. Are these behaviors their instincts? I don’t know but I could have a fun to

The Go-kart Race

イメージ
The mums and dads made a new car go-kart. They made one go-kart out of two. (P16) Today I read the go-kart Race. This story was interesting. More than anything, mum and dad were really amazing because they made a go-kart. If I am told someone to make it, I deffinitely cannot. I was happy to new go-kart called Silver Bullet won a prize though it couldn't win the Race. But Kipper dropped the teeth and a dog caught them and ran off with them in its mouth. The king tried to stop the dog, and ran after it but he fell overe. At the time, The princess saw the king, and she started to laugh. The king had mud on his clothes. I didn't underestand what it was so funny about that. I felt it was funnier that the dog caught the teeth in its mouth. It looked like really theeth. Oxford Reading Tree: Stage 6: More Storybooks A: the Laughing Princ

Rotten Apples

イメージ
"The rotten apples made the horse drunk," he said. (P.22) Today I read "Rotten Apples". At first, Biff was given a job by her mum to pick up apples on their garden. But some of the apples were bad, so she didn't pick up the rotten ones. After that her mum made Biff pick up all the rotten apples and put them in the box. After she finished her job, a man with a horse and cart came down the street. Biff picked up an apple and held it out to his horse. The horse took it with its big teeth, and furthermore, it saw the box of apples and ate all of them. But actually, those apples were bad ones. In other words, it ate rotten apples. Then suddenly, the horse began to run and ran into a car park, and then, it sat down and went to sleep. Biff's mum looked at it and said, "The horse is drunk." To be honest, I was surprised because I knew that rotten apple intoxicate a horse. This story is a bit strange but really interesting. If you haven't read this,

The Princess and the Pea

イメージ
First, he put a tiny pea on a bed. Second, he piled 20 mattresses on top of the pea. Third, he piled 20 quilts on top of the mattresses. (P.8 and 9) Today I read "The Princess and the Pea". To be honest, I thought this story is a bit strange. I don't completely understand why a real princess could feel a tiny pea under 20 mattresses and 20 quilts. That's impossible.  Glossary boulder: 大きな石 pea: エンドウ豆 quilt: 掛け布団 Folk & Fairy Tale Easy Readers: The Princess And The Pea (English Edition) 著者 : Scholastic Teaching Resources 発売日 : 2006-03-01 ブクログでレビューを見る»
